Piecemakers For Veterans

If any member, in good standing with the guild, has a family member that has honorably served and has at least a part-time residency in Ashe County, NC, they are eligible for a lap quilt.

If you would like to donate a quilt to a family member,  please follow these guidelines:

I.  Size:  -at least 50" wide or larger
              - at least 72" long, or longer
              - The goal is to have shoulders and feet covered when in use, so again NO LESS than 50"W X 72" L          

II. Fabrics: -please use patriotic colors - true red, white and blue; country brick/barn red/ecru/blue or bi-color with red/white (ecru) or blue and white (ecru).
                 - 100% cottons - NO synthetics or blends please.

III.  Label:  Even if you use one of the guild labels, it is requested that the label shall state the maker's name and the quilter's name.  No date is necessary (especially if we get extra quilts and some get carried over to the next year.

December 12th, 2024  A Piecemakers For Veterans Presentation.  Missy Parker, from the Veterans Office of Ashe County, was here to help with the presentation.  Catherine and Joyce were in charge of wrapping the quilts.  Gia Gregory accepted a quilt for her brother, Dr. Amato, and for Dr. Wettengel.  Gillian accepted the quilt for Dr. Rector.  The recipients are dentists in Ashe County.
